A life OS that's yours alone
Your whole life, in one calm place.
Saurus keeps your days, body, mind, money, people and home together, so you can see how it all fits. It's sealed on your device, so nobody else can read it. That includes us.
Our mission
Help every person care for their whole life, without giving it away.
Saurus exists to help people see and look after all of their life in one calm place: body, mind, money, people, home and time. The most personal record you keep should never become someone else's product. So Saurus is built so that we can't read it. Your life stays on your device and in your own folder. Anything that reaches our server is sealed first, with a key only you hold.
- Your whole lifeNot one score or one habit. Everything that makes up a life, side by side.
- Yours aloneZero knowledge. We can't read, sell or hand over what we can't open.
- Calm, not addictiveNo ads, no feeds, no streak guilt. Open it, see your day, get on with it.
- Plain wordsNo jargon and no diagnoses. It says what it means.
- Works without usOffline first. Your sealed folder and backups are yours to keep.
— The Saurus promise
What's inside
Eight parts of a life, on one wheel
Saurus opens on Today: your scores and what today holds. Turn the wheel to reach the rest. Every part starts empty, so you only fill in what matters to you.
Plus a day planner, check-ins as often as you like, a Report that turns your days into scores, a Vault for papers, pets, chores and an emergency card.
Your data
Three places your life can live, and none of them is readable by us
Where you use it
Everything you enter stays on your phone or computer. Saurus works offline.
On your computer
Pick a folder, even one inside Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive or iCloud Drive. Saurus keeps a sealed copy there and saves to it by itself.
Sealed backups
Once a month your account backs up, sealed on your device first. We only ever hold locked bytes.
What the Saurus server can see
| Your username | Yes. It's how you sign in. |
| Your phone and email | Locked. They're only unlocked to send you a code. |
| Your password | Never. It doesn't leave your device. |
| Your 24-word recovery key | Never. Only you have it. |
| Anything you put in Saurus | Never. It's sealed before it leaves your device. |
The Saurus folder
A folder on your computer, hooked up to your cloud
On the web, Saurus can keep everything in a folder you choose. Put that folder inside the cloud drive you already use, and your Saurus follows you to any computer, while staying sealed.
- Open Saurus on the web and go to Settings → Saurus folder.
- Choose a folder, for example Google Drive/Saurus or Dropbox/Saurus.
- That's it. Saurus saves there as you go and keeps a snapshot for each of the last 7 days. On another computer, sign in and pick the same folder.
The folder works in Chrome, Edge and Opera on a computer. In Safari, Firefox and on phones, Saurus uses your account's sealed backups instead.
Your account
One account for your phone and the web
Your account signs you in, moves Saurus to a new device and holds your sealed monthly backups. You make it with a username, a password, your phone and your email. Codes go to the phone and email to check they're yours.
When you make it, you get a 24-word recovery key. Write it down. It's the only way back in if you forget your password, because we can't reset what we can't read.
Questions
Good to know
Is it the same Saurus as the Android app?
Yes. The website runs the same Saurus, signed and checked the same way, and it updates by itself. Your account works in both.
How do I get Saurus Plus on the web?
Subscribe in the Android app and sign in there with your account. Saurus links them, so the website opens too. If someone gave you an access code, you can use it below after signing in.
What if I forget my password?
Choose "Forgot password". We send a code to your email or phone, then you type your 24-word recovery key. Without the words you can start over, but old backups have to be deleted, since nobody can open them.
Does the website keep my data on your server?
No. On the web, Saurus keeps your data in this browser and, if you choose, in your own folder. Monthly backups go to your account sealed, or you can keep your own backup files instead.
iPhone?
An iPhone app is planned. Until then, the website works in Safari, using account backups instead of the folder.
